Mahad also loves cooking, playing competitive games, and nurturing partnerships!

Awil’s 10 years of experience as a Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) case worker and Masters Degree in Public Policy brings depth and breadth to the content of all services at Oasis Center. Awil is also a loving father of 4 children, and a local Tax Preparer for the Twin Cities Somali community.

Founded by Mahad Omar and Awil Omar, who have over 10 years of combined experience serving immigrant communities in the Twin Cities, Oasis Center is a family-owned housing stabilization services agency. Through culturally-sensitive, relationship-based management and holistic support services, Oasis Center empowers individuals and families throughout the Twin Cities to achieve the dignity and stability of permanent housing. With compassion and tireless dedication, our staff treat each client like family by taking the time to understand their unique needs and accompanying them on their journey toward transformative change.
